IMPORTANT READ BEFORE USING THE FIRST TIME |
• Never use a pan that has a cracked, chipped, burned or damaged handle. A cracked, chipped, burned or damaged handle can break without warning resulting in severe burns and bodily injury. • Never leave empty cookware or cookware that has boiled dry on a hot electric unit or gas burner. Cookware will discolor, and if allowed to overheat excessively, the bottom will melt and until cooled may be dangerous. If melting occurs, do not attempt to move or remove cookware from cooking surface until cookware has completely cooled. • Handles of saucepans should not extend beyond edge of range or over another gas burner or electric surface unit. • For electric: Use an electric unit the same diameter as the cookware. Never use a larger diameter electric unit. • For gas: Always adjust a gas burner so the flame hits only the bottom area of the cookware and not the sides. • Medium to Low Heat is recommended for all cooking procedures. High heat is never needed for proper cooking. • NEVER PLACE COOKWARE UNDER A BROILER. • Salt can cause white spots or pits to form that are not removable. Always add salt after water has been added and preferably after it has come to a boil. Never store salty foods and liquids in cookware. |
• Never cut using sharp objects in the bottom of the pan. • Before using the first time wash with good dishwashing detergent and add a cup of vinegar to sudsy water. This will take off all factory oils that are on pan from its manufacturing. If you don't wash thoroughly the first time, the oil film on pans will cause them to turn brown and it will be difficult to clean. Some pieces may have a small brown mark inside where the handle was welded. This is from the heat of welding and will come off over time with ordinary washing or you can immediately remove it with some stainless steel cleaner. Your cookware is mirror polished on the outside and has a satin finish on the inside. A certain amount of scuffing can occur during transportation. The beauty of stainless steel is there is no painted finish to chip off. Enjoy your cookware - stainless steel is very durable. Run it through the dishwasher, stack it and use it every day. There is no need to pamper it. Small scuffs and scratches will occur in ordinary use but these will not affect the cooking or cleaning quality of your cookware. • Most food particles can be removed by soaking in water, then washing with a sponge and hot sudsy water. For burned-on and hard to remove remnants we recommend 2 methods: (1) Sprinkle on a good powdered stainless cleaner and rub with a damp paper towel (Do not wet paper towel too much). (2) Use one teaspoon powdered dishwasher detergent to one cup of water. Cover pan with one inch of mixture, bring to boil and let simmer 10-15 minutes. After cooling, use plastic scouring pad to clean. Rub in direction of polishing lines of metal. • Sometimes discoloration (usually a bluish cast) occurs due to high heat or cooking with starchy foods (dried beans, rice, etc.). If this occurs, use stainless steel cleaners found at your supermarket. |
